The University of Malta Academic Staff Association (UMASA) has serious concerns about recent developments in the the proposed Education Act. 

 

In particular, the proposals that teachers' warrants will no longer be permanent, and the lack of clear parameters on the granting of warrants, are unacceptable. Meaningful Consultation requires that the opinions of stakeholders are taken on board not simply brushed aside.

 

UMASA expresses its full solidarity with the Malta Union of Teachers (MUT), as well as the Faculty of Education at the University of Malta, on this matter.
