The University of Malta Association of Academics (UMASA) congratulates the Malta Union of Teachers (MUT) for having obtained sole representation of teaching staff at the Junior College (the University of Malta’s sixth form college).

 

UMASA had already obtained sole recognition of academics at the University and concluded a collective agreement earlier this year.

 

UMASA notes that it has always been willing to continue participating in industrial negotiations on behalf of Junior College, yet acknowledges their wish to be represented by MUT. This does not impede future engagement between UMASA and MUT, keeping the door open for healthy discussions over educational matters between academics and the Junior College.

 

UMASA
